Daniela is a writer (essays in English, fiction in Swedish), and voracious reader. Her first book Skuggkriget, (The Shadow War), a historical crime novel set during World War 2, was published in 2021. In English, her essays have been published in the Washington Post as well as in various online publications. 

Although she grew up in Sweden, she has roots in Austria, which she still considers her other home country. As a result, she developed an early fascination with languages and cultures, which continues to be a common theme throughout her life. As an adult, she moved to the U.S. and now divides her time between New England and Sweden interspersed with trips to Austria. She enjoys exploring, be it in books, writing or travel and remains convinced that the next adventure is always around the corner.
