Friday Notes

Many bloggers and writers, including Tim Ferriss, Anne Bogle, and Sarah Hart Unger write special posts on Fridays to share things they are either currently working on or that interest them. As these are usually my favorite posts to read, I thought I’d try it myself.

Interesting event of the week: My dog Ruby started to work with a new trainer. It’ll be a new approach and I’m excited to get started.

What I’m thinking about: Summer reading lists. While I don’t think my reading changes much during the summer, I love all the curated reading lists of new titles. Afterwards, my already full TBR is packed with new titles. John Waters once said that “Nothing is more important than an unread library.” I couldn’t agree more.

What I’m reading: Two of my hold requests came in at the library:  Dolly Alderton’s Good Material and Emily Rapp Black’s book Sanctuary.

The Current state of my writing: I reread my novel and now I need to keep editing. Usually, this process is fun as I get shape and sharpen the characters and the plot. Sometimes, though, it feels as if I’m pushing a large boulder up a hill.
